Subjects and Predicates

Every sentence has a subject and a predicate.
A subject is who or what the sentence is about. A predicate is what the subject of the sentence is or does.

In these examples, the subject of the sentence is underlined with one line, and the predicate of the sentence is underlined with two lines.


Here are some trickier examples. Again, the subject of the sentence is underlined once, and the predicate is underlined twice.
