Action and Linking Verbs |
Back Action verbs show an action, and linking verbs link the subject to the predicate. Action verbs: The cheetah ran along the savannah. The baby ate peas and carrots. Maria has a headache. Elephants like to keep cool in the summer. The boys sat down on the beanbags. Linking verbs: A dog is a four-legged mammal. The flowers are blue. I am tired. We were hungry. The cat was asleep.
